Hartpury Gaynor's Dancing Horses

The sell out audience saw Working Equitation, Grand Prix Dressage, Classical Dressage, RORs, Lusitano's. What a night. The videos will give you a good idea of what you will see at Hartpury.   on April 11th.

The Kelsall demo was a huge success, with a sell out audience.

Alice is a farmer's daughter from Aberdeenshire, who was brought up looking after her own ponies from a very early age
This was the beginning of a lifelong addiction. Alice now has 3 wonderful mares: Jolijn T, High Fashion Mfs (Ellie), and her absolute star Cheeky Wee Red (Rosie to her friends and fans). Rosie is a 17yo ex flat racer, who retired from a successful racing career as a 6yo and came straight to Alice off the track. She's only 15.3hh but has a huge personality and is convinced she can do anything - which is why she is now competing successfully at Grand Prix, the first ex-racehorse to gain Grand Prix points! Ellie is also part of the GDH team. She was supposed to grow to around 16.2hh but somehow made it nearer to 18.2hh -the grass in Scotland must be very good! Alice has owned Ellie since she was a yearling, bringing her slowly up through the levels to where she is now - working towards Grand Prix with a real talent for piaffe and passage.

Alice Pullem

Chantelle bought Harvey, a 15hh Appaloosa cross Welsh Section D, in 2009 for pocket money as a happy hacker. Nearly 16 years later he has taken her from Prelim to qualifying for Grand Prix. Together they have competed at the Petplan Area Festival Championships at every level, numerous Winter Championships, and have represented regional teams at the Home International on several occasions.
Chantelle fits in riding around her job as a financial controller, and her family life - she is a military wife with a young son, but there's always time for her most wonderful yellow pony too. At 20 years old
Harvey is still improving and strutting his stuff - he had the most amazing time at Your Horse Live in November, and Chantelle can't
wait to showcase his highlights on the Gaynor's Dancing Horses tour.

Chantelle Oliver-Symonds

A totally different show to Kelsall, with several new horses in it.

Sam is a dressage trainer based in South Wales. He started riding aged 15 at a riding school and got the bug. After completing his BSc at Hartpury, he spent time working with dressage horses in Canada and the Netherlands, then returned home and bought his first horse who he trained to Advanced Medium. It was around that time that he met Morris, who was doing some low level eventing with his owner Jo. She asked Sam for some help with her dressage and so he started teaching her. As she became busier, Sam began riding Morris and the rest is history. They won the Prelim and the Novice at the Welsh championships, the Elementary Petplan Area Festival Championship at Hartpury, and took the reserve spot in the Medium the year later. Sam then progressed up through the FEI levels for the first time with Morris, coming runner up at the Petplan Area Festival Championship at PSG. They stepped up to Grand Prix in January 2022 and haven't looked back.

Sam Whyley

Sarah-Jane Enston is the proud owner of Flash Victador, an 11 year old warmblood. SJ has had Victor since he was backed at five, helping his body and mind grow at his pace. An athletic and versatile horse, Victor has become a fixture on the Midlands and South West dressage and side-saddle circuit. His biggest side-saddle successes to date were winning The Three Counties Show in 2022 and being crowned side-saddle champion at the British Dressage Associated Championships in 2023. Progress has not been linear, with his sharp brain and ability to move, putting patience at the heart of all his training. SJ is a truly versatile horsewoman, as comfortable on thoroughbreds on the gallops as she is in the dressage arena. She is also a Show Judge for the British Show Horse Association and still enjoys eventing on another of her rides. Being part of GDH and supporting Cancer Research is something SJ is hugely proud of, and she just hopes Victor doesn't show off his handstands on the night!

Sarah-Jane Enston

Lynne is the proud owner and rider of Hermes, a 15.1hh pocket rocket Lusitano gelding. He is a multi-discipline national champion: 4 times Working Equitation National Champion at Advanced Level, and BD National Champion at PSG level, and is now competing at Grand Prix level. He loves the speed round of Working Equitation, and has competed at the World and European Championships - he was 20th at the 2024 European Working Equitation Championships, and is now ranked 44th in the world. He also loves chasing cows and his favourite snack is Bananas! Lynne has run her own full care livery business since 2005, and loves to introduce horses and riders to Working Equitation so that everyone can enjoy the sport. She has also been a British Eventing event groom, and has had many fantastic opportunities over her lifetime that have enabled her to learn from a wide range of people - this has made her into the skilled and versatile horsewoman that she is today.

Lynne Macleod

Mark is a Cheshire-based freelance riding instructor specialising in confidence lessons, and runs his own yard from home. After breaking his back 2 years ago he made the decision to stop eventing and to concentrate on pure dressage - although in the past he has also hunted, team chased, and played polo. He currently has 7 horses competing at various levels, many of who will be appearing at the shows: the lovely 18.1hh Cash (Quick Casanova) was part of the team at Your Horse Live. He has been married to his husband Paul (who is a vet) for 13 years. Outside of horses Mark and Paul love their holidays and Mark has travelled all over the world - although his favourite is Goa. Mark is no stranger to fame (if not fortune), having appeared on an episode of Eggheads (he went head-to-head with Daphne but sadly lost!), and has been a contestant on "Holidaymaker" - a Sky 1 series set in Spain which is similar to Big Brother.

Mark Cramb

Amazing Romance (Harry) came to the UK from Denmark aged 8. He was bought for his walk as a Team GB Para dressage horse for Sophie Christiansen, aiming for the Tokyo Olympics.
After 18 months, however, Harry decided he didn't want to be a para horse and shortly after Fiona became his new mum and partner in crime. He is Fiona's absolute heart horse and teacher: flying changes are his favourite thing (apart from bananas!) Fiona juggles riding Harry and running her small livery yard with her day job as a Strategic Client Director for a global logistics company. The other men in her life are her German Shepherd
Reggie and long-suffering husband Sean. They have been together 25 years but he prefers a different sort of horse power! Fiona hopes to make the step up to Medium with her big orange dancing partner this year, and then Advanced Medium so Harry can wow the judges with his flying changes!

Fiona Clarke

Jo has owned Spritey (D.P.U.K. Wurlwind) since early 2011 when he was a rising 4yo. He's the first horse she's trained all the way up to Grand Prix, and she can't imagine a more perfect partner - he's cheeky, cocky and clever and loves to get things right, which makes him loads of fun to train.
As a Welsh C x Hannoverian, he's basically an overgrown pony and is only 15.1hh - but in his head he's pretty mighty. Jo and Spritey have been helped on their journey to GP by the wonderful Adam Kemp and Justine Sole (and Spritey is very grateful that they give Jo all this help!) For her day job, Jo is an Associate Professor and Faculty Education Director at the University of Bristol - she fits in riding and training around this. She's also a List 2 British Dressage judge so is probably her own harshest critic when it comes to her riding! Nonetheless, she's still enormously proud of her special little horse. Spritey was one of the stars in the Your Horse Live series of shows in November 2024, and he showed the audience how much he was enjoying the huge crowd.

Jo Rose

Sarah is an international small tour rider who has ridden and trained many horses up through the levels to Grand Prix. Alongside this she loves coaching her wonderful clients from grassroots, through to Area, Regional and international success. She is lucky to have trained with Carl Hester, who has been her mentor and coach for over 30 years. Sarah will ride three of her horses in the shows. Newho Philharmonic (Polly) is now 20 years old and continues to get better with age - she tries so hard to please and loves to work which is why she made it all the way to Grand Prix. DJoe Dmaggio (Squirrel) is the most adorable, kindest horse and is such a gentleman. He is a small tour international horse, and loved being a demo horse at Badminton Horse Trials - he thought the huge crowds were just for him! 

Sarah Stewart

Josephine Clewlow is a 21yr old self-taught Grand Prix rider. She moved to the UK from South Africa at the age of 12 with the goal of riding FEl ponies and competing at an international. This was achieved within 18 months. When she outgrew her pony at the age of 14 she partnered with Joey and together they muddled their way along learning new moves until they reached Grand Prix. In 2021 they came double PSG Silver Petplan Champions and in 2024 she won her first Regional title at Advanced Medium Gold riding to Gaynors wonderful composition titled "Joeys Creed". Jo is also a full time student at Staffordshire University studying a Sports Coaching degree and is aiming to complete a PGCE after that. She also works 2 jobs to support her riding. In 2023 Jo was diagnosed with endometriosis and had two surgeries for it. It has been a challenge regaining core strength in the saddle but Joey has always been by her side and gave her confidence when she was feeling weak. Together they have climbed mountains and at 19yrs old Joey is still fit and performing at his absolute best.

Josephine Clewlow

Zoe Paramore rides Mina, who is a 15.3hh purebred Lusitano mare by Zoë's black Lusitano stallion Atinado. Zoë and Mina enjoy showing off the traditional Portuguese turnout of the Lusitano breed. Mina has shown at the National Lusitano Breed Show and took the Best British Bred Championship title. Zoe rides Mina both aside and astride, and under side saddle they have competed at the Royal Cornwall Show, winning their class, and going on to the National Side Saddle Show. Mina is only lightly competed at dressage, given Zoe's busy role running her livery yard and Lusitano stud at home. Zoe and Mina work with Portuguese GP rider and trainer Ricardo Wallenstein, Charlotte Witt-bom and Melanie Suter. Mina is a delightful and generous mare who really gives her all, and Zoe has an amazing bond with her.

Zoe Paramore

Gina is an ex-eventer - following a fall after 60 BE events, she decided to give up on that and try affiliated dressage instead! That is when Mission Accomplished II (aka Jammy) entered her life. Jammy was bred for showjumping, and originally bought for eventing, but together Gina and Jammy began an amazing journey into dressage. They both love dressage to music and Jammy really flicks her toes when her tunes are played! They have been to the Petplan Summer Area Festival Championships with their Elementary music, been placed at Area Festivals, Regional Championships, and the Riding Club Championships with their music, and are now working at Advanced Medium. Aside from this Jammy truly is Gina's best friend - Gina feels incredibly lucky to own her. They both loved being part of the team at Your Horse Live last November,
and being part of the Gaynor's Dancing Horses tour really is the icing on the cake!

Georgina van Puyenbroek

Melanie lives in South Wales, and has been dancing partners with Maisie for all of Maisie's life. Maisie is a skewbald mare who stands 15.1hh, with Welsh bloodlines. Melanie was a late starter to dressage due to her role in the RAF, which took her away on deployments. However she has now taken Maisie up through the dressage levels to Medium. Melanie and Maisie represent the RAF and UK
Armed Forces at dressage. They have had numerous wins within BD and were placed at the Armed Forces Associated Dressage Championships. Maisie has also had a successful showing career, winning many classes, but both Maisie and Melanie have a real passion for dressage to music, and Maisie always puts her best hoof forwards.
